For Spring 2027, Veronica Leoni returned to the foundations of Calvin Klein Collection, stripping away excess to examine the relationship between minimalism, sportswear, and the female body.
Presented at Terminal Warehouse in New York, the collection drew heavily from Calvin Klein’s defining language of the 1990s, revisiting the wardrobe archetypes that established the house’s reputation: the pencil skirt, slip dress, tailored trouser, denim, the perfect T-shirt, and the trench coat.
Leoni described her approach as a process of removal—taking away anything that does not serve the design until only what is necessary remains. For her, minimalism is ultimately about the space between clothing and body. With fewer distractions between the two, the woman herself becomes the focus.
That philosophy gave familiar Calvin Klein staples a more sensual and refined treatment. Ultrafine silk-knit T-shirts were paired with low-slung trousers, evening skirts, and light-wash denim, while baseball shirts in silk cady introduced a sporty note against elongated pencil skirts. The brand’s signature sportswear remained central, but the materials and proportions gave it a more sophisticated edge.
Transparency further emphasized the body’s role in the collection. Layered straight skirts were reduced almost to nothing, revealing the figure beneath them, while silk bouclé knits introduced subtle texture. Softly feminine dresses balanced fluidity with restraint, avoiding the decorative excess often associated with occasionwear.
Tailoring was equally disciplined: long, lean, and sharply defined. A black brocade midi dress and a combination of matte and glossy silk slip dresses demonstrated how little is required to create impact when cut and proportion do the work.
