Michael Kors Collection Spring 2027
Michael Kors returned to one of his greatest sources of inspiration for Spring 2027: New York City. Presented in the sculpture garden of the Museum of Modern Art, the collection translated the energy, diversity, and constant reinvention of the city into a sharp, colorful vision of modern femininity.
After celebrating his brand’s 45th anniversary at Lincoln Center last season, Kors chose another New York landmark for a collection rooted in modernism. The setting reflected the references behind the clothes, which ranged from Edie Sedgwick and Nico to the Wassily chair and the work of Carmen Herrera, Henri Matisse, and Alexander Calder.
That influence was immediately visible in the collection’s clean lines and graphic approach to color. Kors moved away from exaggerated volume in favor of a wardrobe that felt, in his words, polished, precise, and streamlined. Slim tailoring, structured coats, and miniskirt sets established the foundation, while Kelly green, tomato red, and vivid yellow introduced bold flashes of color.
Architecture also informed the accessories. Angular heels, sculptural handbags, and circular leather and silver jewelry echoed the geometric language of modern art without overwhelming the clothes.
Kors traded traditional evening glamour for a more direct form of elegance. Simple monochromatic tank dresses were wrapped with color-blocked strips at the waist that moved with the body, while fitted crepe gowns covered in hand-applied sequins brought a sharper edge to eveningwear. One particularly striking black dress featured curved cutouts, proving that minimalism did not mean abandoning sensuality.
The collection’s more decorative moments appeared in dresses and skirts with rounded silhouettes, embellished with three-dimensional sequin flowers or shredded chiffon organza that resembled scattered confetti. These softer, more feminine looks were balanced by sporty bodysuits and graphic crop tops crafted from combinations of cashmere and leather.
