Mithridate Spring 2027 Collection
For Spring 2027, Mithridate turned British eccentricity into its most extravagant expression yet. Designer Daniel Fletcher imagined a meeting between Princess Diana and London DJ and fashion muse Princess Julia somewhere near Covent Garden, on their way to the legendary Blitz nightclub of the 1980s.
That collision of personalities became the foundation for a collection built around character, attitude, and the freedom to dress without restraint. Fletcher drew on the New Romantic spirit of the Blitz, combining it with the polished irreverence of British preppy style.
The club’s anything-goes dress code translated into Edwardian- and Victorian-inspired tailoring, low-rise briefs finished with fringed scarf ties, party dresses with rounded hems, feathered corset dresses, and silhouettes framed by layers of tulle. Cotton-candy-pink ballet pieces added a softer note, while oversized bicorne hats by Noel Stewart pushed the collection further into theatrical territory.
Yet beneath the extravagance was a distinctly English wardrobe. Rugby shirts and ribbed knit polos appeared in unexpected colors with striped school scarves and sculptural shapes. Striped micro-shorts were worn beneath fluid trench coats, cropped cable-knit sweaters were layered under strong-shouldered jackets, and relaxed denim was punctuated with oversized studs.
The tension between uniform and rebellion gave the collection its character. Traditional British references were repeatedly distorted through proportion, styling, and decoration, turning familiar preppy codes into something more provocative.
Fletcher described the collection as an exploration of self-expression through clothing, using Mithridate’s increasingly established identity as a foundation for experimentation.
